Maple Cross Car Show — Event Website & Management System
A Complete Digital Platform for a Growing Community Event
We designed and developed the official Maple Cross Car Show 2027 website and management platform, combining a modern public-facing event website with a powerful custom administration system.
The platform was built to do more than promote the event. It gives the organising team the tools to manage vehicle registrations, publish event content, handle enquiries, manage sponsors, control SEO, and run day-to-day website operations from one centralised system.
The result is a complete digital ecosystem designed around the specific requirements of a community-led motoring event.
The Challenge
Maple Cross Car Show needed a dedicated digital platform capable of supporting the event from promotion through to registration and ongoing content management.
The organisers needed to:
- Promote the annual car show
- Register cars, motorcycles, and tractors
- Provide clear visitor information
- Manage event content and announcements
- Showcase sponsors and charity causes
- Publish galleries and blog content
- Handle contact enquiries and newsletter subscriptions
- Manage SEO and website settings internally
- Update the website without relying on developers
The platform also needed to reflect the event's distinctive identity through a cream, burnt orange, and dark brown visual direction, while keeping the experience straightforward and accessible for visitors.
The Solution
We built a production-ready Laravel application combining a responsive public website with a fully customised CMS and administration panel.
Rather than relying on an off-the-shelf event platform, the system was designed around Maple Cross Car Show's specific workflows.
This gave the organisers complete control over both the public website and the operational side of the event.
Public Event Website
The public-facing platform provides visitors with everything they need to discover and participate in the event.
Event Information
Structured pages provide information about the show, causes, visitor guidance, FAQs, policies, and other essential event details.
Vehicle Registration Wizard
We developed a dedicated multi-step vehicle registration workflow allowing participants to submit their vehicle details and upload photographs.
The registration system supports multiple vehicle types, including:
Cars · Motorcycles · Tractors
Submitted registrations can then be reviewed and managed through the administration panel.
Events & Event Pages
The CMS supports event listings and individual event detail pages, giving organisers a flexible way to publish current and future event information.
Gallery
A dedicated gallery allows the organisation to showcase vehicles, previous events, and community highlights.
Blog & Categories
The built-in publishing system supports blog posts and category pages, providing the team with a flexible platform for announcements, updates, stories, and event-related content.
Sponsors & Causes
Dedicated content areas help highlight sponsors, charity initiatives, and the organisations benefiting from the event.
Contact & Newsletter
Visitors can submit enquiries through the contact system and subscribe to the event newsletter for future updates.
Custom Administration CMS
The heart of the platform is a complete custom CMS, giving the organising team control over the website without requiring technical assistance.
Administrators can manage:
- Homepage sections
- Events
- Vehicle registrations
- Contact messages
- Blog posts
- Blog categories
- Gallery images
- Sponsors
- FAQs
- Newsletter subscribers
- SEO settings
- 301 redirects
- Navigation menus
- Website settings
- Users and permissions
- Media library
Vehicle Registration Management
The registration workflow was connected directly to the administration system.
Organisers can:
- Review submissions
- Approve or reject registrations
- Send registration emails
- Export registration data to Excel
- Manage uploaded vehicle photographs
- Add approved vehicles to the public gallery
This transforms vehicle registration from a simple contact form into a structured event management workflow.
Role-Based Administration
Not every team member needs the same level of access.
We implemented role-based permissions allowing the organisation to assign different responsibilities across:
Super Admin · Admin · Editor · Viewer
This provides greater control over who can view, create, edit, or manage different parts of the platform.
SEO & Technical Architecture
SEO was built directly into the platform rather than treated as an afterthought.
The custom SEO system provides control over:
- SEO titles
- Meta descriptions
- Canonical URLs
- Open Graph metadata
- Robots directives
- Page indexing
- XML sitemap
- 301 redirects
The platform also implements structured data including:
Organization · WebSite · Event · BlogPosting · Breadcrumbs
Additional technical features include a dynamic XML sitemap, RSS feed, clean URL structures, and appropriate indexing controls for administrative and authentication areas.
Accessibility & User Experience
The website was designed with accessibility and usability in mind.
The implementation includes:
- Skip navigation links
- Semantic landmarks
- Labelled mobile navigation
- Responsive layouts
- Clear content hierarchy
- Mobile-friendly registration forms
- Accessible navigation patterns
The goal was to ensure that visitors could quickly find information and complete important actions such as vehicle registration regardless of the device they were using.
Technology & Architecture
The platform was developed as a full Laravel application, giving the project flexibility beyond the capabilities of a traditional event website.
Backend: PHP 8.2+ · Laravel 12
Frontend: Blade · HTML · Tailwind CSS 4 · Custom CSS · Alpine.js · Axios
Build: Vite
Database: MySQL / SQL
Authentication: Laravel Breeze
Permissions: Spatie Permission
Media: Spatie Media Library
Activity Tracking: Spatie Activity Log
Exports: Laravel Excel
Icons: Heroicons
The application also uses structured form requests, policies, service classes, queued emails, scheduled publishing, and automated testing to provide a maintainable foundation for future development.
The Outcome
Maple Cross Car Show now has a complete digital platform for promoting and managing its annual event.
Visitors can discover the show, explore information, view previous events, register vehicles, browse the gallery, and contact the organisers.
Behind the scenes, the organising team has a centralised CMS for managing content, registrations, media, SEO, users, and day-to-day website operations.
The platform provides the flexibility needed to support the 2027 event and future editions of the show.
